My favorite quote - today - from “Raising an Original”
"Sometimes one of the most valuable steps to learning who you are is learning who you aren’t . A child who loves all kinds of little creatures, rescues lost puppies, and names every roly-poly in the flowerbed may ultimately become a vet. But what that child is really showing is a gift for compassion. A gift for nurturing. He is “others-focused” and protective. That’s the gem. That’s the thread we seek. That beautiful strand, carefully discovered and lovingly curated, will serve him well at the deepest core of his life, regardless of where his work takes him."
